2nd Athens Shopify Meetup: Six Months. A Different Web.
Six months after the first Athens Shopify Meetup, the community came back together — and this time, the conversation had shifted fast.
The second Athens Shopify Meetup took place on October 10 2025 and felt less like a follow-up and more like a checkpoint. Same city, same people, but a very different Shopify landscape. Organised once again by Gerasimos Tsiamalos, the meetup brought together builders, founders, and operators to unpack everything that’s changed since February — and it’s been a lot.
Panos Voulgaris walked through what’s new, what actually matters, and what’s already reshaping how we build and think about eCommerce. The discussion touched on Shopify Editions, Horizon, the evolving theme marketplace, agentic commerce, and a broader question that kept resurfacing: what does the future of the web really look like when platforms move this fast?
Beyond the updates, what stood out was the perspective. Gerasimos openly reflected on where the web is heading, not in predictions, but in implications — for merchants, developers, and teams who need to make decisions today that won’t age badly tomorrow.
There was a shared realization in the room: it’s only been six months, but the rules are already shifting. The tools are changing. Expectations are changing. And standing still is no longer an option.
The mood? Curious, alert, and already looking ahead.
Here’s to the next one. You probably shouldn’t miss it.
