Shopify Editions.dev 2025: Bringing the Future Back Home
Last May, we headed to Toronto for Shopify Editions.dev where we got to see where Shopify is actually going next.
Editions.dev delivered exactly that. Deep dives, hands-on workshops, and real conversations around Shopify’s roadmap — from the evolving developer environment to Shopify’s accelerating AI push and what tools like MCPs mean in practice, not theory. The message was clear: Shopify isn’t iterating. It’s rebuilding the foundation.
One of the standout signals was Shopify’s serious commitment to EMEA, backed by numbers — including a 36% Q1 growth in the region. Not an announcement for the slide decks, but a shift with real implications for how teams in Europe build, scale, and compete globally.
For Panos Voulgaris, the value went beyond the sessions. Editions.dev was a chance to connect with people who are shaping the platform from the inside out — exchanging ideas, pressure-testing assumptions, and getting clarity on what’s coming before it becomes “best practice.”
And while the trip didn’t feel like work, the impact definitely followed us back. New perspectives. Sharper thinking. Practical insight that now feeds directly into how we design, build, and support Shopify stores for our clients.
Editions.dev wasn’t about inspiration. It was about direction.
